Take a look at all of VSA at UVA's upcoming events!
VSA hosts a variety of events throughout the year, supporting our mission as a cultural, service, and social organization that aims to educate others about Vietnamese culture. Our inclusive programming draws interest from students of all background, from across the University community and beyond. Here's a few of VSA's largest and most celebrated events throughout the year.
Tet Show: Premier Cultural ShowcaseFebruary or March
Tet Show is THE biggest event we have as an organization. Filled with dances, acting performances, and music, our cultural show gives our members to showcase Vietnamese culture to other UVA students, the Charlottesville community, and even students from other MAUVSA schools! Members can try all types of dances which include hat dances, fan dances, and multiple modern choreographies. Easily the highlight event that VSA has the chance to put on the entire year (there's also free Viet food)! |

Fall Family Week is a 2-week period following the first general body meeting of the year filled with fun hangouts and competitive events to prove your family is the best one! With sports, food, and socially focused events, there is something for everyone to participate in and this is a key period for getting to know your VSA family and VSA bigs! At the end of the two weeks, the family with the most points is announced as the best VSA family for the year! |

Fall & Spring Phofest: Pop-Up Viet RestaurantMid-November & Mid-April
Phofest is one of our biggest events of the year! As being part of the umbrella organization Mid-Atlantic Union of Vietnamese Student Associations (MAUVSA), we participate in a Collective Philanthropy Project which involves donating money to a specified charity that benefits Vietnamese people. Phofest allows our members to participate in a pop-up pho restaurant and to serve UVA students and the Charlottesville community while being able to raise money for charity! |
Turkey Bowl: GMU Charity Football TournamentEarly November or Thanksgiving Weekend
Interested in football and other sports? Turkey Bowl is just the event for you! This flag football tournament is a multi-school competition between other MAUVSA schools hosted by the VSA at George Mason University. VSA always brings both a men's and women's team (and does a fair bit of winning!) All player fees go to the Collective Philanthropy Project. |
